Exploring God's Creations

Important Dates of the Week:
Tuesday 21 and Wednesday 22 - Preschool Picture Day
Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 - Magic House Visit
Thursday 23 - Early Dismissal (No Lunch)
Friday 24 -  NO SCHOOL

Letter Recognition
As the year progresses, the children will become more secure in their letter writing/formation and understanding of word formation.  They are excited about spelling different words. Throughout the week, during morning choice time, they enjoyed practicing different fall words. Some made "word" books and others made their own stories with the different words. We loved observing the positive encouragement and assistance students gave to one another. A lot of teamwork was on display.

The class also used the large letter pile to find the buried letters to match the word cards.

Using the sensory bowls and mini-tweezers, the children searched for the fall leaf and pumpkin jewels. Using the mini-tweezers help builds the muscles in their hands, which are needed for writing and drawing.

Nature Scavenger Hunt
Our class had waited for two weeks for sunny weather so we could go outdoors on a Nature Scavenger Hunt. It felt so good to head outside and explore God's detailed masterpiece.  Each child was given a check-off sheet and clipboard, a plastic bag, and a marker. They were instructed to look around and collect the different items which were on their sheet.

First, they needed to write their names on their sheets.

Second, they explored around the campus for their items. Finding many treasures along the way!

Exploring the hollow tree.

We searched all around campus and didn't see one squirrel. The squirrel was the only item the children couldn't check off.

Classroom Joy
Our class has talked about our "school" family for which we care and love.  The past few weeks, the children have been growing in their understanding of care through play and social situations.
Learning to share with each other, taking turns, encouraging one another, taking their time on projects/activities, listening while others are speaking and smiling at others are just a few of the non-academic skills the children are working on. The students' actions bring such joy to each other. God has surely blessed our class.

Blessings on your week!
