Mirror Drawing

This fun center incorporated drawing on a mirror while watching their own reflection.

Weather Journals

Each day, the children come into class, sign-in and head to the table to do their weather journals. Each day they find the number, trace it and predict what the weather is going to be. This helps with both number recognition and scientific prediction. Some days they predict it is going to be sunny and it ends up cloudy and other days they are right on their prediction.

Writing Center

The writing center is always a busy place. Here the children are able to use their creative minds for making pictures and cards for others, work on their tracing skills, use their fine motor skills using the shape bunches and crazy scissors or just work on their writing skills by writing words.

Block Building

What Is Your Favorite Type of Bear?

Our class set up voting stations to vote for their favorite type of bear: a brown bear, black bear or polar bear. Each child made their own secret vote by coloring their bear and putting it in the voting box. Before share time we graphed which bear was the class favorite.

The polar bear was the big winner!

Bird Feeders

Using their "pincher" fingers the class crafted cereal bird feeders on string. They were very excited to hang the feeders in their trees for the birds and animals to snack on.

Hibernation Tubes

We finished our hibernation tubes this week, attaching them to trays/lids and added snow. The children will use them to keep their animals warm on hibernation day .
