Hibernation Week

Reminders:
No School: Tuesday, February 10, 2015 Teachers In-Service
No School: Monday, February 16, 2015 Presidents' Day

Jesus Time for the Week:
We began our journey into Jesus' Miracles. We learned about Jesus' first miracle of turning water into wine. After witnessing this miracle, his disciples truly knew that Jesus was God's son. We also learned that only God and Jesus can perform miracles.

Hibernation Days
It was awesome to have snow fall from the sky on our Hibernation Day on Monday!!!  We were able to be all snuggled up in our classroom.

Activities around the room are just more fun in your pajamas.

Journals: What Do You Like in Your Mug?
A large amount of the class picked marshmallows!

While the class was in the room working on their centers. Their animals were cozy warm hibernating inside their hibernation tubes they made.

Here is just a few of the hibernation tube

Future Builders of America
What to do with a large amount of foam tiles?
Build!
The imagination and creative process the children used to work together to create one project was just incredible. The students had so many different ideas, some worked, some didn't, but they learned from each different attempt. In the end, their final product was a very large, long tunnel.

Here are our two of our time-lapse videos and one video!

Writing Center is always a favorite.

Friday, they wanted to continue their work. This time it didn't take as long to figure out what they wanted to do, they recreated the tunnel.

A Game of Uno is always fun,
working on number recognition, taking turns and the hard skill of winning and losing.

Future Architects of America
Each day the class continues to dream up so many different Lego creations. I am so proud of them for using their imaginations to build their ideas and work together.

Magic House
This past week,we had our last Magic House trip until April. With the cold weather, it was such a blessing to run, climb, jump and use all our different muscles.
