Art Week
This week, our class spent time learning about different forms of art.
*Portraits-Each child picked out a friend to be their drawing buddy, and they took turns drawing each other.  The project took great teamwork and effort. Time was taken by each child to make sure we had important details correct (that we didn't have any blue friends at school) and the right number of body parts.
*Sculptures-Using Model Magic the children created their own piece of sculpture art.
*Painting-Using water color paint, the class made a variety of different paintings.
*Abstract-Our abstract art was very exciting. As one child stated, "This is so relaxing. I wish we could do it every day!" They were given paper, and use of various stickers shapes, tissue paper, buttons, and paper shapes. We talked about how abstract art can be anything your heart and mind creates.

Working on our numbers by playing Go Fish!

Making mail for Mrs. Katie to take to Uganda.

Working on our science project of growing crystals.

Spending time comparing Lego items to build.

Building with large and small Lego's.

Drawing Buddies drawing each others' portraits.

Using recycled items to create something new.

Each day more ideas come about building. Their little minds are constantly learning and growing. They are so eager to try out different building layouts and ideas.

Book Buddies
Being the last Friday of the month meant it was Book Buddy day! Both the 5th graders and preschoolers look forward to this time when they are able to have one-on-one attention with each other. They love being able to see one another in the hallway at school or in the lunch room.

Friday Fun Day!
How do you make popcorn?
Mrs. Sharron in the church office let us use her popcorn popper to find out how popcorn is made.

End result! Overflowing popcorn! Such a yummy treat!

Other highlights of the week were:
 *Monday Chapel with Mrs. Audrey,
Concordia Lutheran's Family Minister
*Gym Time
*Pears for snack. Each child picked out their own pear, washed and cleaned it for Wednesday's snack! They loved the fresh pears, a new item on the snack menu.

Blessings on your week!~
