TEAMWORK!

TEAMWORK!
Our class has been learning about teamwork.Teamwork is an important skill to learn at any age. We have been learning how to work as a team to get things accomplished, both in fun (building or creating a project) and as a life skill (helping others clean up). Each day the teachers are trying to "catch" impromptu teamwork happening in the classroom.

During Jesus Time:
God told Noah, "You need to build an Ark, (or boat). And I will save you and your family."
During Jesus time this past week we learned about God's plans for Noah and his family. This account sparked conversation about building a boat, and we used the opportunity to create a project.  Since we have been talking about "TEAMWORK," we integrated the concept into the lesson.  The class formed two teams, and each met on different sides of the classroom.

Step 1:
We discussed that we need a blueprint, or instructions for building an ark. Each student came up with some of their own ideas about what they would like to see in their ark.

Step 2:
Next, each team was given a large piece of paper so they each could add ideas for their ark. Using teamwork, they took turns listening to each others' ideas and working patiently with each other.

Step 3:
Students looked through all the blocks and shapes and laid out where they were to go. This gave us an outline of what our arks were going to look like.

Step Four: Begin Gluing

This week each team will continue to craft their Noah's Arks, including painting the arks.

Reading Buddies:
The last Friday of the month our 5th Grade Reading Buddies come to our class and spend time reading with us. It was fun so see the preschoolers remember their buddy with no or just a little help.

Fine Motor:
In preschool we spend a lot of time working on our fine motor skills. These skills are necessary for performing everyday things such as brushing teeth, buttoning clothes, and opening lunch items. Fine motor skills also help with cutting, writing and drawing.

Crafting  melty bead projects.

Squishing foam dots!

Creating with craft sticks.

Prayers For the Week:
Each day our prayer helper starts our morning with prayer. The prayer helper is encouraged to pray for whatever is on their heart and mind. Throughout the day, we also pray for things which might happen or things that come into our mind.  Each day we place the prayers on front door so that others can pray for them too.
