Getting into the Swing of Things

Our second full week is almost over. Our class is getting into the back to school routine.  We are learning the names of all of our school friends and trying to remember which friend comes on which day, since they all have different schedules.

Carnival Arrival!
Last Thursday and Friday, our class went outside before it got too hot and completed some clipboard drawings of things happening during carnival preparation. It was such a joy to see some of drawings they came up with.

I wonder what I am going to draw?

I am drawing the slide!

"I am drawing like 56 light bulbs!"

I think that I want to go on the slide first.

Classroom Signs
After reading The Signmaker's Assistant by Tedd Arnold, our class talked about the importance of signs to identify things. The class listed many different things around our room that needed a sign. Then, they went to work writing and decorating signs for our classroom.

Cap Stackers
Working on both fine motor and math skills, the class has had a blast playing with the cap stackers. They have discovered that you can build only so high before the caps fall over and make a fun noise as they hit the floor.
